Question: I have extra new quilting "stuff. How do I donate this to the Green Valley Quilt guild?
How we use donated quilting supplies:
How do I donate?
- Fabric for quilts, baby blankets, bags, and Christmas stockings, for our Charity Quilting, especially large pieces for backing or quilt tops.
- New /Unused items for the Quilt Show for raffle baskets, the Boutique, and Small Quilt Sales.
- New /Unused items at meetings for the Stash Table and door prizes
- New or gently used items for the "Free Stuff" table available at all meetings
How do I donate?
- If you're a non-member with donation, send an email with your contact info and a description of what you want to donate to [email protected] who will route your message.
- If you're a member with a large donation, contact the President or the Charity Bee chair.
- You can bring items to a meeting and ask the person who checks you in for more specific directions.
Now Accepting Donations for the Stash Table and Door Prizes
- Members are encouraged to donate new or unused quilting items to the guild, which will be used for quilt show baskets, the stash table, door prizes, and for boutique items.
- We also have a "free table" at our meetings for items that are older or more used but still a treasure for someone.
- Need some ideas as to what could be donated? Here are just a few:
- Small quilts/wallhangings/table runners (perimeter size limited to a total of 100 inches) -
- Fabric – fat quarters, bundles, pre-cuts of all sizes, yardage
- Tote bags, zipper bags
- Pot holders, oven mitts, aprons
- Quilt kits, small project kits, and new patterns
- Small quilty items, notions, rulers, thread
- Quilty note cards, pin cushions
- Dog collars/bandanas
- *Please ask before donating quilt books – we tend to get too many to handle.*
